Taylor Swift is once again proving she is THE music industry with The Eras Tour ticket growing in demand as her tour continues. If you didn’t get tickets during the initial Ticketmaster sale (like most of the world), you need to calm down! I’ve been tracking the Ticketmaster & Seat Geek additional ticket releases so that I can give a little more guidance on the best time to buy Taylor Swift tickets now that we’re over a month into her tour.
Wait… more tickets??
Yes, you read that correctly. Ticketmaster has released additional tickets shortly before show dates of each Eras Tour location. There are a couple of ways to access these tickets, so let’s get into it.
Additional tickets have been released by The Eras Tour (at face value) through Ticketmaster Verified Fan for the last seven weeks in a row, ten days before shows were set to begin in a new city (Glendale on March 8th, Las Vegas on March 15th, Arlington on March 22, Tampa on April 4th, Houston on April 11th, Atlanta on April 18th, and Nashville on April 25th). These tickets are only available to people who registered for the Verified Fan presale but didn’t get any tickets.
So when is the best time to get Taylor Swift tickets?
If you registered for Ticketmaster Verified Fan for Nashville I recommend looking for a Verified Fan code from Ticketmaster via text or email in the morning exactly 10 days before your anticipated show date.
For example, if you were looking for a Nashville date, you would start checking your texts/email on Tuesday April 25th at about 10:00 am (Central). Philadelphia’s presale should be Tuesday, May 2nd.
Ticketmaster appears to be sending out these texts and emails during the day with people posting that they have received them at different times throughout the day (The text will most likely come from Ticketmaster number 73767). The intent is to stagger when people are logging onto their site.
When purchasing these tickets, you must login using the Ticketmaster account tied to the email address that is included in the text (you can’t just give someone else your code as the code is tied to your account). Keep in mind that if you DO/DID give someone else access to your account to purchase tickets with your presale code, you will not be eligible to use this code for multiple transactions.
Here’s a copy of a text that was posted for NRG Houston so that you’ll know what it looks like as the text looks a bit sketchy and a lot of folks have posted that they deleted Ticketmaster’s texts thinking that they were a scam.
You simply follow the link or go to Ticketmaster directly and enter your access code. Do this as soon as you can after receiving the text since several Swifties will be receiving codes around the same time.
How do I get Taylor Swift tickets without a Ticketmaster code?
Once the Verified Fan sale has been completed, Swifties that didn’t get a code can join the Ticketmaster queues for their city with no password required. This usually happens on Wednesday after the Tuesday sale has been completed.
Tickets will continue to be released sporadically with no code required (you just have to constantly keep checking). I have not come across anyone who has been able to get the no-code-required tickets during the week of the Verified Fan additional ticket release.
The best time to buy Taylor Swift tickets without using a code seems to be on the Wednesday (two days) before the first show with ticket drops continuing until the final show in that city. That’s when most Swifties have been successful with the no-code-required tickets.
Extra tips for navigating Ticketmaster
Overall, I’ve had better luck finding tickets using Safari instead of the Ticketmaster App. One thing that is really unusual is that Ticketmaster doesn’t appear to be using their checkout timer for these recent Eras Tour tickets.
Usually, you have at least a minute while the tickets are in your cart to complete your purchase before Ticketmaster releases your tickets for others to buy. That isn’t happening with these tickets and Swifties are losing tickets that are already in their cart before they can complete payment. That means you’ll need to select your seats as fast as you can and checkout immediately instead of checking for better options first if you really want Taylor Swift tickets.
The best and most important part of these additional Eras Tour tickets is that they are FACE VALUE! So, you won’t be paying scalpers. Check out this blog for more ways to get Taylor Swift tickets if you don’t want to risk waiting for this additional ticket release.
Have fun and enjoy the show! I hope you get tickets at a reasonable price!
