We have exciting news to share! We’ve now been on the road full time for two weeks – I’m actually writing this as we overlook the red rocks of Sedona. For those of you that don’t follow us on social media, Mike and I decided to switch things up in this crazy year of 2020.
We both had traditional careers (attorney and financial analyst), but with the things we love like travel and live music on pause for the near future, we took the last few months to brainstorm about what to do next. That’s how we ultimately landed on exploring the country living full time in our RV with our two pups, Ziggy and Ditto.
Our main hurdle to actually kicking off full time RV living was figuring out how to make an income while we’re on the road. Here’s our plan right now:
- AirBnb our home for 30-day rentals
- Sell tie dyes in our online store
- Work freelance jobs and do consulting to supplement our income using our professional skills (for me, it’s ghostwriting for innovative clients and law firms; for Mike, it’s financial modeling and projections)
- Monetizing our blog thanks to our favorite Blogging Blastoff course (not by spamming you but by working with brands we LOVE and we know you’ll love too)
Full time RV living is all still a learning curve for us (a pretty steep one)! But, it’s been 100% worth it.
Here’s a quick catch up because we’ve been silent on the blog (follow us on social media for in-the-moment updates) as we focused on getting our RV (named Cream Puff) ready:
Throughout our journey, we stayed in some pretty amazing places including:
The best part is all but one of our sites were free. Munds Park and Indio were with family and ever since then we’ve been staying on BLM, US Forest Service, and Arizona State Trust land.
So, what does this change mean for you? We are still living the Rich Living, Less Spending way – experiencing the most life has to offer without breaking the bank. But now, we’ll have even more experiences to share. Where we’ve spent time hunting down the best flights in the past, we’ll be finding the best campsites and small towns across America. Instead of tips for international travel, we’ll bring more space-saving, outdoor, and road trip tips. Rather than sold-out stadium shows, we’ll share our favorite live music drive ins and socially-distant events while supporting local artists.
Now that our cost of living is heavily reduced and the entire country is open to us, we can’t wait to see where our journey takes us next! Subscribe to get tips on enjoying the outdoors and life on the road while embracing the new normal.

This sounds like an awesome experience and an awesome way to live. Good on you! I’d love to do this as well one day.
Taylor Palmer
Thank you, Jenny! We are truly embracing the experience and enjoying each bit of it. We are working on developing a guide or course to help others do the same because it truly has been the best decision we’ve made!

An inspiration! I wish you luck on the road. Life is of living! My most memorable 2 years were those spent travelling – if you can make money as you go, no need to stop! Happy travels.

Thank you! We are having a blast right now and are growing our income streams so that we can go as long as possible. We truly love exploring the US this way! What was your favorite experience in your 2 years (I know that’s a hard one to answer)?
