We moved to Lagos, Portugal three years ago, but it took us a while to start creating Lagos guides and content. Even though we covered life in Portugal as a whole, we were focused on living and assimilating to life in Lagos rather than producing content about it.
That all changed this year thanks to Eyes of the Algarve: a 3-day music event inspired by the Grateful Dead, taking place at Wake Park Lagos this September 2026.
After attending 1,000+ concerts together, finding a community of local Deadheads, and feeling like Lagos is truly home, we decided to host our first ever music event. From that came lots of questions: where to stay, what tours we love, top restaurants, tips for travel, and the list goes on. As I started to develop hotel recommendations or hostel guides for attendees, I realized this information is actually helpful for everyone coming to Lagos, not just our fellow Europe Deadheads!
And so… it is time… to officially create a new category that is strong enough to stand on its own: The Best of Lagos, Portugal.
This series will be continuously updated to include our favorites throughout Lagos and surrounding areas, like Luz, Lagoa, Carvoeiro, Burgau, Sagres, and more.
