We’re Mike and Taylor, and we love traveling and experiencing new adventures together! We started Roam Away From Home to share how we fit in adventures, concerts, international travel, and fun events into our daily lives to maximize the fun we get our of life.
We both had traditional in-office jobs (attorney and financial analyst), but just like so many people, 2020 shook up our world. With the things we loved like travel and concerts no longer part of our day-to-day experiences, we brainstormed for months about what to do next…
That’s when we decided to say goodbye to the traditional life and embarked upon life as digital nomads and full time travelers. After over 3 years of life in our 1986 campervan, we relocated permanently to Portugal with our two dogs, Ziggy and Ditto!
Our visa requires us to make non-EU income while living here… so how do we make an income while exploring life abroad?
- Live Music Threads – our online apparel shop for fans of Taylor Swift, Phish, Grateful Dead, and our favorite musicians
- Content creation – everything from posting on our own channels to User Generated Content
- Remote income from freelance work and other fun projects
If you’re feeling like it’s impossible to have the life you want, get out of that mindset! Now that we have a goal, our workdays are actually fun again.
